Thierry Paulin was a French serial killer who was active in the early 1980s. He, along with his accomplice Jean-Thierry Mathurin, was responsible for the murder of at least 21 elderly women in Paris. The victims were predominantly women living alone who were strangled and robbed in their homes.
Paulin and Mathurin were dubbed the "Beasts of Satan" by the media due to the brutal nature of their crimes. They targeted vulnerable individuals, gained entry to their homes under false pretenses, and then proceeded to rob and murder them.
Paulin was eventually caught and arrested in 1987, while Mathurin committed suicide before he could be apprehended. Paulin was convicted of multiple murders and sentenced to life in prison. He died in 1989 at the age of 27 from complications related to AIDS.
Thierry Paulin's crimes shocked the public and highlighted the vulnerability of elderly individuals living alone. His case remains a tragic example of the dangers posed by individuals who prey on the most vulnerable members of society.
